Recognizing the positive impact small businesses have on their local communities, the SBA’s mission is to help small businesses in the U.S. succeed. Small Business Saturday is an initiative to celebrate and support small businesses across the country.

woom USA, headquartered in Austin, Texas, was nominated for the Small Business Saturday award based on company growth and success as well as woom’s emphasis on community involvement and charity.

The SBDC has worked with woom’s family-owned-and-operated business since the company’s start in 2014 to provide guidance, help in obtaining additional capital to grow, and educational opportunities and workshops for the woom team.

“woom bikes is an extraordinary company that has an unlimited future,” says Steele, woom’s SBDC business advisor. “It is my pleasure to work with such a dedicated owner and staff that is always seeking to grow and improve the company to meet their visionary goals.”

With unrivaled attention to detail and quality, woom focuses on the design of lightweight bikes for children of all ages. woom’s emphasis on safety, ergonomics, handling, sustainability, and non-toxic parts has made woom bikes best in their class.

“We want as many children as possible loving to ride their bike—that’s our mission,” owner and operator Mathias Ihlenfeld says.

All North American operations are managed from woom’s Austin facility.

“Our business is small, but we have big goals,” Ihlenfeld says. “Everyone is motivated and works hard and has the energy and desire to take care of our customers. Our team here is dedicated to providing the best customer service.”

Ihlenfeld says woom’s employees share the same passion and vision. “The key to success in running a small business,” he says, “is to have a great team.”
