Cleaning Up Our Communities - #woomcares

Joy, courage, and responsibility. Those are our core values here at woom, and we’re committed to living out those values in and outside of the office. While it makes our hearts happy to bring joy to so many kiddos through bikes, that’s not the only way we can add a little extra joy to the world.

We recently partnered with Keep Austin Beautiful, a local organization dedicated to inspiring and educating all Austinites to volunteer together, beautify green spaces, clean waterways, and reduce waste every day. As active members of our outdoor community, we take great responsibility for keeping our trails, neighborhoods, and other communal outdoor spaces clean. As you can see—our values are pretty aligned!

Our Day of Service

We started our day of service by hopping on a video call with Keep Austin Beautiful and the whole woom team, where we learned even more about the organization and its values.

Keep Austin Beautiful believes:

• All Austinites have a right to clean, safe, and beautiful green spaces

• All Austinites are responsible for keeping our green spaces and waterways clean and beautiful every day

• People who volunteer together are more connected to nature and each other

After our wonderful meet and greet with the inspiring faces behind this initiative, we headed out into the community to clean up the trails and other green spaces surrounding our homes and office. It’s easy to stop and smell the roses, but it’s not always easy to stop and pick up whatever may be littering the ground around you. It can take a bit of courage to step out of your routine, but once you try new things a few times, they quickly become a habit.

Get Involved

Cleaning up our communities can not only be self-fulfilling but also can bring joy to the community. Children and adults can enjoy parks and trails in their natural state, which is beautiful.

We encourage you to go out into your community and make a difference. That may look like cleaning up green spaces, or it may look like something completely different. Seek out what your community needs because you, too, can make a difference!
